I Practiced the One-Minute Rule for a Month and This is How it Changed Me
Don’t underestimate the power of 60 seconds to transform your life.
Like many of you, my life and to-do list can feel overwhelming.
The little things slowly add up, until they feels like one massive, unmanageable thing that’s standing directly between me and my happiness and productivity. I’ve been here plenty of times in my life, and I always feel overwhelmed, stressed, and stuck.
Earlier this year, though, I realized I wanted to make a change. Life was going well and, with my kids in school, I had more time to focus on myself and my own goals. Constructing a strategy to overcome an almost constant sense of overwhelm and fatigue became a goal of mine.
Enter the one-minute rule.
The one-minute rule was first articulated by best-selling author, social media sensation and speaker Gretchen Rubin, and it’s premise is deceptively simple:
Immediately complete any task that you can get done in under a minute.
It’s that simple. If a task can be completed in less than a minute, go ahead and get it done.
