Do This After You Fail

the same advice applies after you experience a victory, too

I sit down at the end of the year to compare my 2019 blog traffic and stats to the previous year.

It doesn’t come as a surprise, as I loosely keep track of my progress all year, but things are looking down. Roughly 60% down from the previous year.

It feels as though, no matter what I do, traffic is in a free fall. After a decade of blogging, I thought I was immune to such fluctuations, but apparently, I am not.

Highs and Lows

No matter your career, I’m sure you have them too: highs and lows, failures and successes. Some days it feels as though everything is going your way and always will. Other days, it seems as though nothing you’re doing is working, and maybe never will again.

Of course, these ups and downs aren’t confined to our work. In our personal lives, relationships, health and more, life isn’t always smooth sailing.

The world is full of advice for those of us who experience failure (which, of course, is ALL of us).

We’re told to dust ourselves off, never give up, and try, try again. We’re encouraged to take a step back, to pivot, to take what we’ve learned from our failure and use it to our advantage.
